Yes, Kudos to Leslie for setting up the framework to support project
listings. I have received requests from multiple faculty members looking
for projects and it will be helpful having a resource to which to send
people!

Subject: [TOS] request for comments - FOSS Mentors Listing Page

Hello everyone,

Another year, another Google Summer of Code. This year we turned away
application from nearly 250 Free and Open Source software projects who
were hoping to mentor student contributors, and many of these folks
expressed an interest in setting up mentoring initiatives outside of
GSoC. I'd like to start a listing on the TOS site that allows projects
who would like to mentor students and academics to list their
availability and have created an initial draft here:

http://www.teachingopensource.org/index.php/FOSS_Mentor_Projects

After April 20th, we'll see many students who were not accepted into
GSoC looking for other ways to contribute to FOSS, and I'm hoping this
directory page will be a great place to point them.

All feedback appreciated. If folks feel such listings are within the
scope of TOS, then I will let projects who were turned away from GSoC
know that this page exists and that they can list themselves here.

Cheers,
LH
