I second this point.

There is a lot that can be done outside of the rigid structures
of traditional institutions, and with a much better return for the
amount of energy invested.

We can use some fresh-thinking and open-minded strategies
on how to make a better use of the Web for disseminating
Educational materials and for networking students with FOSS
projects.

Where the term "student" is defined as:

            "Anyone with an interest in learning".
