[TOS] Good news! Grant awarded!

Hi,

Short answers: yes, yes, and yes.

Details:

There are several websites from prior NSF projects (see http://xcitegroup.org/projects.html SoftHum and HumIT). We'd actually like to consolidate sites. We would also like to use this project to advance teachingopensource.org. We think that TOS is the best general gathering place we have and we want to support this community.

We expect workshops in multiple locations, but given federal grant rules, only within the U.S. Most of the workshops will be based on the POSSE effort, but with NSF funds available to cover costs for the attendees (only U.S based faculty, again due to federal funding rules). We also expect to run some short events associated with computing education gatherings like SIGCSE.

Finally, preparing teaching/learning materials (with open content license of course) will be the another key activity.

Cheers,

Greg Hislop

Excellent. Will you have a website?
Will any of these be traveling workshops?
Will you be preparing curricula?
